Compass-Find Your Way to Higher Education, a University of Sydney program, aims to encourage primary and secondary students from low-socieconomic backgrounds to participate in higher education. The key goal of the project is to build academic attainment and aspiration for students and to provide them with a greater awareness of higher education opportunities.
Sydney University supports Athelstane by providing learning opportunities for students and professional learning for teachers.
The Compass program has seen our students involved in:
- University Taster Days
- Stop Motion Animation
- Film Production
- Visits to the various Museums at Sydney University
- Experience performances at the Seymour Centre
- Occupational Therapy intervention program
- Word Up (Multilit) program
We are very fortunate to have this continued association with Sydney University.
