Room 13

Room 13 Art Program

Over the past 3 years, students at Athelstane have been lucky to work with Howard Matthew, our Artist in Residence. This week a number of the artworks created by our classes have been put on display in Room 13. An Art Trail through Arncliffe has also been set up with videos at various locations accessible by QR codes and smart devices. These videos have showcased artworks created and the processes undertaken to achieve the amazing artworks. This Sunday, the 27th November, the Athelstane P & C are holding a School Fete. The fete will run from 10am-4pm and will feature rides, performances, a variety of stalls and even a visit from the local Fire Brigade. 2017 Resource Allocation Model funding

In October 2016, all NSW public schools will receive a 2017 Planned School Budget Allocation Report. The report will assist with the management of the total budget delivered to schools through the Resource Allocation Model (RAM). The Resource Allocation Model (RAM) methodology distributes funding based on the individual needs of students and schools. This gives schools greater flexibility to make local decisions. Clowns! Happy 100 Days Kindy

Happy 100 Days Kindergarten!

On Friday, Kindergarten celebrated their 100th day of schooling! What a great achievement. And what a spectacular celebration it was! Education Week Open Day

This week is Education Week. We are inviting parents to a special Open Day at Athelstane on Tuesday 2nd August. 10:00am: Open Classrooms. Come and see the fantastic learning that is happening in the classrooms at Athelstane. 11:15: Athelstane Expo: This expo will be held in the hall and will be an opportunity for parents to learn more information about a variety of programs that are run at Athelstane. Easter Fair TOMORROW

Tomorrow is Athelstane's annual Easter Fair. Festivities will begin at 11am with our Easter Hat Parade and continue with all of the fun stals, rides, games and delicious food! Entry is via the Horsel Avenue gates only. Parents are welcome, however siblings of a high school age will not be permitted. Parent Information Session

Next Wednesday, the 16th of March, a parent information session will be held to overview the role of the Learning Support Team and School Counsellor within our school. Parent Information Session

This Wednesday, 17th February, a parent information session will be held around homework. The session will cover Reading Eggs and Mathletics, and how these sites are used as a part of our Home Learning Program, and answer any questions you may have. St George Dragons Visit

Last Thursday, six players from the St George Illawarra Dragons visited Athelstane and spoke to students 1-6 about the importance of a healthy lifestyle, including getting enough sleep, eating well and staying hydrated.
